This church was restored by the architects Henri SAJOUS, Charles HEBRARD, and Father LARRAMENDY, spearheaded by TRP PAILLAS, the general superior of Batharram religious community. It was given back to the religious on September 29th, 1931.

The church is mentioned as soon as 1472 ; it became famous during the 19th century for its the Betharram religious community, founded by St Michel GARIGOITS, a native of the village.
The stained-glass windows were designed by H.SAJOUS and HEBRARD, and then carried out by E.L.CAILLAUD, in Bordeaux; the statue of Saint Michel GARIGOITS was made by Gabriel.N RISPAL (Paris).
